Job Summary:
The Production Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring production schedules to ensure efficient use of resources, on-time delivery, and alignment with customer demand. This role works closely with manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, and sales teams to balance capacity, materials, and labor while minimizing costs and disruptions.
The Production Planner analyzes forecasts, sales orders, and inventory levels to create feasible production plans, adjusts schedules as conditions change, and proactively resolves issues related to capacity constraints, material shortages, or delays
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates expediting flow of material, parts, and assemblies within or between departments of industrial plant
- Evaluates written data, such as job orders, product specifications and operations sheets, parts and materials inventory lists, and machine and worker production rates, to establish efficient allocation and scheduling of parts, materials, machines, and sequences of operations and workflow
- Consults with production personnel to resolve problems affecting production schedules
- Continually monitors and seeks improvements to the production processes
- Prepare and report status and performance
- Collaborate with quality control, shipping, sales department, and other staff to achieve lead time reduction and on time delivery targets
- Ensure that safety and environmental policies and procedures are followed and maintained within organizational and federal and state policies, laws, and regulations
- Familiar with and conduct job duties in compliance with the quality and management system.
- Participates in training programs as required by the company
- Performs other duties as required
Qualifications:
· BS degree or equivalent experience in related field
· High level of proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook required
· Requires a minimum of 5-10 years of relevant experience
· Proven experience in related functions, including MRP II.
· Knowledge of production control and supply chain management principles
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
· Excellent inter-group communication abilities
· Experience with D365 – Microsoft Dynamics (including implementation of it) is .
