Planner – Derby - East Midlands\n\nSalary: Up to £80,000 + Car or Car allowance, Private medical, 10% bonus, 25 days holiday.\n\nLocation: Derby - East Midlands\n\nCompany: Established Main Contractor\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nAn exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced Planner to join a highly successful, privately-owned main contractor as they continue their ambitious growth across the Midlands.\n\nThis is a rare chance to become part of a brand-new regional team, playing a pivotal role in establishing and shaping a new East Midlands operation backed by the strength, reputation and financial stability of an established business.\n\nWorking closely with senior operational and pre-construction teams, you'll have genuine influence over how projects are planned and delivered from day one, while helping to build a region with significant long-term investment and growth plans.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs Planner, you'll be responsible for developing and managing project programmes from tender through to completion, ensuring robust planning processes are in place across a diverse portfolio of construction projects.\n\nKey responsibilities include:\n\n * Producing detailed construction programmes using Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6.\n\n * Supporting bid submissions with tender programmes and planning input.\n\n * Working alongside project teams to monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.\n\n * Preparing short-term and long-term programmes, phasing plans and reporting.\n\n * Attending client, design and progress meetings.\n\n * Providing planning expertise throughout the project lifecycle.\n\nAbout You\n\nWe're looking for someone who can combine strong technical planning skills with excellent communication and stakeholder management.\n\nYou'll ideally have:\n\n * Experience as a Planner within a UK main contractor.\n\n * A proven track record delivering construction projects across sectors such as commercial, industrial, education, healthcare or residential.\n\n * Strong working knowledge of Asta Powerproject (Primavera P6 also considered).\n\n * Excellent understanding of construction sequencing, logistics and project controls.\n\n * The ability to influence and work collaboratively with site and pre-construction teams.\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\n * Salary up to £80,000 (may pay more for exceptional candidates)\n\n * Attractive benefits package including car allowance/company car, bonus, pension and healthcare.\n\n * The opportunity to join at the start of an exciting regional expansion.\n\n * Genuine career progression as the East Midlands business grows.\n\n * A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture with the backing of a well-established, financially secure contractor.\n\n * The chance to make a lasting impact in a role where your contribution will be highly visible.\n\nIf you're looking for an opportunity to help shape a growing regional business rather than simply joining an established team, we'd love to hear from you.
