Job Description
Our client is one of the leading Building and Civil Engineering Contractors operating throughout the UK and Ireland.\n\nThey are seeking a Planner to enhance their Civil Engineering team and drive success across their high value projects.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nThe successful Planner will be based out of their Belfast office within their Civil Engineering Division and will be required to travel throughout the UK to assist in delivery of their projects.\n\nThe Planner will be responsible for the following duties:\n\nPrimarily act as the main contact to provide planning input to deliver live civils projects\n\nProvide pre-construction input with the support of the Planning Department / Pre-construction team\n\nProduce project delivery programmes and provide the planning functions required, i.e. CPA, resourcing, cost loading, S-curves, EVM, quality checks, etc\n\nProduce and develop pre-construction programmes, incorporating design and procurement elements, to facilitate the delivery programme\n\nDevelop and monitor live project programmes, including producing progress reports\n\nBe able to deliver programmes in industry standard project management software applications, including Powerproject, P6 & Microsoft Project\n\nProvide the planning function to successfully deliver the requirements of both traditional ICE and NEC contracts\n\nBe available to travel to sites throughout the UK to deliver programme/planning function as required\n\nThe Individual\n\nQualifications\n\nRelevant higher level/ degree level qualification\n\nExperience\n\nPrior experience in a planning position or a similar role in the civil engineering / construction industry, delivering high quality projects as well as tender experience\n\nProficient with industry standard project management software applications, specifically Powerproject, P6 and Microsoft Project\n\nExperienced in delivering various types of civil engineering schemes, including infrastructure, marine works, energy, environmental, geotechnical and construction engineering\n\nFamiliar with the planning demands of the various types of civils contracts, specifically JCT and NEC requirement\n\nFully conversant with various contract procurement routes and planning requirements\n\nExperience in claims/delay analysis and forensic planning would be advantageous
