The Planner typically completes projects and designs involving load growth and infrastructure replacement projects for distribution facilities. The Planner 1 will collect data from digital records or field inspections; applying Company, Industry, and regulatory standards and specifications to plan the construction, relocation, installation and/or maintenance of facilities and equipment associated with overhead electrical distribution and/or underground electric distribution systems. The Planner will utilize AutoCAD and/or AUD in coordination with the Drafting team, Planner 2's and Planner 3's to effectively plan placement and operation of electrical lines and associated equipment to meet or exceed specific electrical design needs.

This is an entry level hybrid position for Planner 1. Position will have some supervision and guidance but will require a self-driven individual who can manage workload independently after training.

Required Specifications

• Must pass drug screen test.
• Must have a valid driver's license with an insured vehicle.

Specifications

• One year experience in the industry (, not required).
  • Experience with a pole loading software (preferably SPIDA Calc)
  • Experience with fielding overhead poles
  • Any additional Distribution planning experience would be helpful.

Duties and Responsibilities
• SAFETY, SAFTEY, SAFTEY! Always maintain a safe working environment including on site in office and out in the field via an ever-changing environment
• Gather and analyze all appropriate field and technical information to provide the best quality product to customers
• Utilize customer standards to deliver, develop, and implement cost effective designs
• Perform field work, as needed, to perform designs
• Maintain effective communication with peers to help facilitate larger customer driven jobs
• Work in time efficient manner to adhere to company driven benchmarks to avoid construction delays
• CAD'ing skills a plus but not required. (AutoCAD, microstation)
