Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all piping construction activities within assigned areas of the project.
- Ensure contractors execute piping works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project standards.
- Promote and enforce project HSE requirements, ensuring all piping activities are performed safely.
- Coordinate daily piping construction activities with contractors, construction management, engineering, QA/QC, and commissioning teams.
- Monitor installation of process piping, utility piping, supports, valves, specialty items, and associated mechanical systems.
- Review construction drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, work packs, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Verify piping installations comply with design requirements, applicable codes, and project specifications.
- Conduct routine site inspections to ensure quality workmanship and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action.
- Monitor contractor productivity, workforce allocation, and installation progress against project schedules.
- Assist in resolving construction issues, field changes, and engineering queries.
- Support hydrotesting, flushing, cleaning, reinstatement, and pre-commissioning activities.
- Ensure timely completion of inspections, testing, punch list closure, and turnover documentation.
- Participate in progress meetings, toolbox talks, safety meetings, and coordination workshops.
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports for Construction Management.
- Support commissioning and start-up teams during project handover phases.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Piping Superintendent or Construction Manager.
Requirements and Skills
- Minimum 10 years of experience in piping construction within EPC, EPCM, steel, mining, energy, petrochemical, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Piping Supervisor or Piping Superintendent role.
- Strong knowledge of piping installation, field fabrication, pipe supports, valves, specialty items, and mechanical completion processes.
- Experience supervising large multi-disciplinary construction contractors.
- Thorough understanding of piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, GAs, and construction specifications.
- Knowledge of piping codes and standards including ASME, EN, and project-specific requirements.
- Experience with hydrotesting, flushing, pressure testing, mechanical completion, and turnover activities.
- Strong understanding of construction safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
- Ability to identify and resolve field construction issues effectively.
- Competent in Microsoft Office and construction reporting systems.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Willingness to work on a rotational basis in Northern Sweden.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related discipline.
- Previous experience on steel plants, mining operations, battery plants, power generation facilities, or other large-scale industrial facilities.
- Experience within PMC, EPC, or EPCM project delivery environments.
- Familiarity with construction management systems and digital turnover tools.
- Knowledge of European construction regulations and standards.
