Compensation Data
Salary Range: $125,000 - $150,000, commensurate with experience and geographic location
Mission
The Senior Pipeline Design Engineer leads RINA’s pipeline design program by overseeing and performing engineering design work on natural gas and petroleum pipelines, facilities, and related structures to meet client and industry specifications. The Senior Pipeline Design Engineer will train and mentor staff and manage subconsultant design work.
Key Accountabilities
Oversee and conduct planning and design of natural gas piping and related aboveground facilities for Distribution and Transmission pipelines
Understand and apply client and industry engineering specifications to projects
Supervise, develop, and mentor technical staff
Interact with client management and engineering departments to facilitate project efforts
Provide project management and supervisory support
Support engineering activities for underground and aboveground gas storage facilities
Participate in new business development, including developing proposals, conducting client presentations, and exploring additional revenue opportunities
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering, or related field
10+ years of experience in natural gas or pipeline industry
Professional Licensed Engineer (PE) or the ability to obtain one required
Strong understanding of construction and engineering practices
Thorough knowledge of Gas Industry specifications and 49 CFR Parts 191 & 192
Knowledge of technical specifications for bidding documents
Familiarity with resource management and scheduling
Proficiency with CAD software and other engineering-related PC software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Additional Requirements
Valid Driver’s license
Ability to travel up to 15% as needed
