Position Overview: Digitrol is seeking a skilled and experienced Pipefitter/Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, assembling, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing piping systems, supports, and related equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, and industrial production and processing systems. The role also requires proficiency in welding techniques and safety practices to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of piping systems.
  • Plan and execute the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems.
  • Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipe using hand and power tools or machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines, and pipe-bending machines.
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding, brazing, cementing, soldering, and threading joints.
  • Inspect work sites for potential hazards and ensure safety protocols are followed.
  • Conduct pressure tests on piping systems to ensure the integrity and functionality of installations.
  • Perform welding tasks including TIG, MIG, and Stick welding on various materials such as steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Collaborate with other trades and departments to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues in piping systems and recommend corrective actions.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety standards, and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED; technical certification or apprenticeship in pipefitting/welding is .
  • Minimum of [insert years] years of experience in pipefitting and welding.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of piping systems, welding techniques, and safety standards.

  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks that involve heavy lifting, bending, and working in confined spaces.
