Picture the start of your shift: you fine-tune a blister line, dial in parameters to match the SOPs, verify tooling, and run a clean startup. By mid-morning, you’ve cleared a fault on a cartoner, coached an operator on safe setup, and synced with QA to resolve a label-quality deviation. The afternoon brings documentation updates, a line-clearance signoff, and a quick PLC tweak to improve uptime. You end the day proposing a layout change that cuts waste and boosts throughput.
What you will own
- Line setup and tooling – Configure packaging equipment and tooling for peak performance and repeatable changeovers.
- Parameter control – Establish and monitor process settings precisely in accordance with documented standards and procedures.
- Hands-on troubleshooting – Rapidly diagnose and correct mechanical issues to keep product moving.
- Quality partnership – Work closely with Quality Assurance to identify, contain, and correct packaging-related quality concerns.
- Throughput and yield – Elevate efficiency while reducing material scrap and downtime.
- Accurate records – Maintain clear, timely machine documentation to support audits, traceability, and continuous improvement.
- Operator enablement – Train and mentor operators on equipment operation, safe practices, and best-known methods.
- Regulatory alignment – Support the Production Supervisor in sustaining cGMP, DEA, and OSHA compliance across the floor.
- Safety stewardship – Confirm machines meet safety requirements and operate within established safeguards.
- Line clearance – Oversee and authorize line-clearance activities to protect product integrity.
- Automation savvy – Apply working knowledge of PLCs and automation systems to enhance reliability.
- Equipment mastery – Operate and maintain inkjet printers (continuous and thermal), UV printers, blister packaging machines, bottle fillers, cartoners, and vision systems.
- Continuous improvement – Spot and implement process, equipment, and layout enhancements.
- Broader support – Take on additional assignments from the Director of Operations to help the team win.
What you bring
- PLC troubleshooting skills and experience with industrial automation troubleshooting
- Equipment troubleshooting and general troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints
- Machine building/assembling and mechanical assembly skills
- Excellent communication skills to partner across operations and quality
