Petroleum Engineer

We are looking for a Petroleum Engineer for one of our clients with the following details:

Location: Iraq - onsite in Basra in client office

Contract Duration: 1 year (min)

Qualification and Experience Required:

• Essential Education: Petroleum Engineering or similar Engineering degree.

Essential experience and job requirements

• Strong mentoring, team development and coaching skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organised and lead the team under pressure.
• Solid well interventions experience of (coiled tubing, stimulation, eline) and well inflow and injection performance
• Experience on Production and Injection Well Management, Well & System
• Performance, Short term Production / Injection Optimisation.
• Experience in Waterflood operations & challenges
• Experience using PETEX Prosper and GAP software.

Desirable criteria & qualifications

• Experience of working within a multicultural environment
• Experience of Waterflood and Wellwork opportunity generation and progression in a high volume activity environment.
• Anticipates future situations and plans ahead to meet them
• Data analysis and presentation techniques, e.g. Power BI

Key accountabilities

• Drive team towards innovative solutions to improve performance delivery.
• Identify cost efficient Wellwork opportunities to improve well injectivity and productivity.
• Daily optimization - track non-compliance against targets and follow up with Waterflood Operations team to implement required action.
• Following on Wellwork activities both RL & RWO - input into scheduling meetings, support operational issues and drive discussion with WW team. Perform actual IWR calculation (pre & post wellwork jobs)
• Offline wells and losses - track well status and understand the reason for status. Participate in cross-department discussions to gain alignment on root cause for loss and ensure adequate reporting.
• Post job analysis (PJA) decision for unsuccessful WW Job - support and contribute to PJA working session and perform PE pre-work/analysis as input into PJA preparation.
• Perform Adhoc water injection Well Performance Analysis and Investigation to support technical understanding of water injection management.
