Job Title: Permit Coordinator
Job Summary
The Permit Coordinator is Responsible for managing the permitting process for residential and commercial community signage projects for home builders. Primary responsibilities are to ensure all required permits are accurately prepared, submitted, tracked, approved, and documented in compliance with local municipal regulations and builder timelines. Communicate between city jurisdictions, internal account representatives, and builder clients to help ensure authorized and timely signage installations.
Daily tasks:
Prepare and submit sign permit applications to various city and county jurisdictions
Review project specifications, site plans, and construction drawings for permit accuracy
Coordinate with account representatives to obtain required signage documentation (layouts, engineering, MHC site plans, etc.)
Track permit and blue stake statuses and follow up with city permit officials to ensure timely approvals
Communicate updates to account representatives and builders
Address corrections or revisions requested by permitting authorities
Maintain organized digital records of submitted and approved permits
Weekly tasks:
Pay associated permit fees, follow up with municipality permit staff, maintain and update permit records and jobs
Research municipal code requirements for new communities or jurisdictions, and update files as needed
Submit revision applications when sign changes or relocations occur
Create, update or renew blue stake tickets and document in blue stake tracker Excel worksheet
Monthly tasks:
Check permit logs for ongoing or completed permits, and update as needed for accuracy and completeness
Review recurring jurisdictions for regulation updates or procedural changes
Coordinate with account representatives for upcoming communities to determine what signage permits will be needed
Occasionally travel to deliver fees or documents in-person to city/municipality permit offices
