As a Permit Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and obtaining necessary permits for our construction projects. Compensation:
$20 - $28 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Research material properties in large databases to identify the best materials for modeling
- Attend preliminary meetings with the client to understand the project specifications and scope
- Utilize computer software to generate 2D and/or 3D designs, depending on the project specifications
- Create budgets and timelines for the design project by working with other construction team members
- Receive feedback from construction team members and clients and revise designs accordingly
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all permit-related inquiries and communications with local government agencies, ensuring prompt and accurate responses.
- Research and stay up-to-date on building codes, zoning regulations, and permit requirements applicable to construction projects in various jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other team members to determine the specific permits required for each project phase.
- Prepare and submit permit applications, ensuring all necessary documentation and drawings are complete and accurate.
- Monitor the status of permit applications and track timelines to ensure timely approvals and issuance of permits.
- Address any deficiencies or issues identified by permitting authorities, coordinating with internal teams to resolve them effectively.
- Maintain organized records of all permits, approvals, and related documentation for each project.
- Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on permit statuses and any potential delays or issues.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in using architectural design software, such as AutoCAD, AutoDesk BIM, Solidworks, 3DS Max, Chief Architect Premier: Construction Drawings, SketchUp, and Lumion
- Must have 2+ years of experience in architectural design
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in design, architecture, construction engineering, or similar field is
- Have great attention to detail, with strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Possess a firm grasp on the industry as a whole and stay up-to-date on evolving trends in architectural technologies
- Previous experience working as a Permit Coordinator, Permit Technician, or in a similar role within the construction or real estate industry.
- Strong knowledge of local building codes, zoning regulations, and permit processes.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with government officials, project teams, and external stakeholders.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple permits simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with permit tracking software is .
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex permitting challenges.
