Job Description
Role: People (HR) Operations Manager
The role's key purpose is to deliver accurate, timely, and effective people operations support that enhances the employee experience and underpins organisational growth. The role holder provides a trusted link between people, finance, and leadership teams, ensuring people matters are handled with professionalism and care. The People Operations Manager ensures smooth and compliant people processes across the UK and European offices.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update employee systems and People databases to a high standard
- Administer and update company benefits schemes across regions
- Manage People operations and administration matters
- Support employee lifecycle processes, including operational onboarding and offboarding
- Manage and process monthly payroll for UK and European office locations
- Oversee payroll compliance, accuracy and timely submissions
- Handle queries relating to People operations, payroll, benefits and policies
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring accurate records and compliance
- Develop and maintain efficient People processes and workflows
- Collaborate with Finance and regional teams to ensure alignment on payroll and benefits
- Provide People data and reporting to management as required
- Drive continuous improvement in People systems, processes and employee experience
Experience required
- Proven experience in payroll management, ideally across multiple European locations
- Strong knowledge of people operations, compliance, and employment practices
- High level of accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving ability and confidence in handling queries and escalations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a people-focused approach
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Experience in HRIS/People systems and confident in maintaining accurate data
- Comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Collaborative approach, able to build positive relationships across teams and regions
- Continuous improvement mindset, with a drive to streamline and enhance processes
- Ability to do work with support rather than high levels of hands on supervision
The role operates on hybrid 3-4 out of 5 days office based model.
