PCB Design Engineer in Wichita

ZimZee Recruiting is looking for a PCB Design/Layout Engineer to provide hands-on engineering and technical support in the design and development of advanced avionics and related electronic products. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a detail-oriented environment and has strong experience with PCB layout, component management, and cross-functional collaboration. You will play a key role in transforming schematics into fully realized, manufacturable circuit board designs while supporting the full product lifecycle from concept through production.

Skills and Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of PCB design and layout experience in an engineering environment
• Proficiency with PCB layout tools (PADS )
• Strong understanding of electrical schematics and circuit board design principles
• Experience with component library creation and maintenance
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM) principles
• Ability to manage detailed design documentation and release processes
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
• Effective verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field

Key Responsibilities

• Design and layout printed circuit boards from electrical schematics for avionics and electronic products
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical requirements to meet overall product specifications
• Create and maintain component libraries, symbols, and footprints
• Develop and manage complete design documentation and release packages
• Support procurement, build, testing, and troubleshooting of PCB assemblies and interfaces
• Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure design manufacturability and quality
• Execute Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs)
