Position Overview
Mu-Del Electronics is seeking a highly skilled PCB Design Engineer with strong experience in high-speed, mixed-signal, and RF circuit design. This role will be responsible for end-to-end PCB development, from concept and schematic capture through layout, testing, and production support. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, hands-on debugging experience, and the ability to work in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex multi-layer PCBs including digital, analog, RF, and power circuits
- Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and signal integrity analysis using Altium
- Develop high-speed designs involving interfaces such as PCIe, USB, Ethernet, LVDS, and DDR
- Conduct simulation and modeling using tools such as LTspice, PSpice, and ADS for RF and EMC performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with mechanical, firmware, and systems engineers to ensure design integration
- Perform board bring-up, validation, debugging, and root cause analysis
- Support DFM/DFA processes, including of fabrication and assembly documentation (BOMs, Gerbers)
- Participate in design reviews, testing, and product lifecycle improvements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- 4+ years of experience in PCB design and development
- Strong expertise in mixed-signal and RF circuit design
- Experience with high-density, high-speed PCB layouts
- Proficiency with tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro/OrCAD, ADS, LTspice
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers)
- Experience with embedded systems and microcontrollers (e.g. STM32)
- Knowledge of communication protocols: I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet
- Familiarity with EMC/EMI design practices and testing
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong problem-solving and debugging capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in teams
Qualifications
- Experience with RF systems, GPS, or avionics hardware
- Experience designing for aerospace, defense, or industrial applications
- Experience with FPGA or GPU-based systems
- Experience working with MRP/ERP systems and working in a manufacturing environment
