An all-in-one, well-known bookkeeping firm based in Houston is seeking a meticulous and client-focused Payroll & Inventory Specialist. The primary responsibility of this role is the implementation and management of Payroll and Inventory systems, with a strong focus on Toast Payroll and the Xtrachef Inventory system by Toast. Experience with Toast platforms will be considered a significant advantage.

In this role, you will support our restaurant and hospitality clients by helping them streamline payroll processing, gain control of labor and food costs, and improve inventory accuracy. You will also serve as a trusted advisor, coaching and training restaurant owners and managers on how to best utilize these systems to improve their operations and maintain financial health.

Responsibilities:

Lead the implementation and optimization of Toast Payroll and Xtrachef Inventory systems for restaurant clients.
Provide ongoing training and coaching to restaurant owners, managers, and staff on system usage, payroll procedures, and inventory best practices.
Advise clients on labor cost control, scheduling efficiency, and related best practices.
Collaborate with internal teams (accountants, consultants, HR specialists) to ensure seamless service delivery.
Assist payroll processes for multiple restaurant clients on a recurring schedule, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor laws, tip/gratuity policies, and overtime regulations.
Assist in transitioning clients to digital inventory platforms where needed (e.g. Restaurant365).
Serve as a key point of contact for clients regarding payroll and inventory matters.
Maintain strong, professional relationships with clients built on trust, responsiveness, and accuracy.

Qualifications & Skills:

2–4 years of relevant experience, preferably as an Assistant Restaurant Manager or Shift Leader.
Direct experience with Toast Payroll and Xtrachef by Toast highly .
Strong knowledge and understanding of payroll Restaurant’s systems (e.g., ADP, Gusto, Paychex) and restaurant inventory tools (e.g., Restaurant365, Margin Edge, Marketman, Toast).
Familiarity with restaurant accounting principles, COGS, and labor reporting.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-first mindset.
Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines with professionalism and efficiency.
Restaurant background operations knowledge is a MUST.
