The Opportunity

As Banking & Expansion Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in developing and deepening the global partner ecosystem of banks, payment networks, and fintech providers. Working closely with the senior leadership team, this role drives the expansion of financial infrastructure, optimises commercial agreements, and ensures the delivery of seamless payment experiences for end users.

This is a strategic, cross-functional role well-suited for a commercially astute operator who thrives in fast-paced environments and understands the inner workings of fintech and payments innovation.


Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Head of Infrastructure to identify, onboard and grow relationships with banks, scheme partners, and fintech enablers.
  • Drive commercial negotiations, pricing reviews, and service-level agreements with financial partners.
  • Track performance of banking relationships to ensure best-in-market rates, reliability, and coverage.
  • Stay informed on emerging payment technologies, rails, and regulations to identify opportunities for platform enhancement.
  • Serve as a liaison between internal teams (Product, Compliance, Sales) and external counterparties to ensure smooth integrations and continued partner engagement.
  • Act as a primary escalation point, resolving issues while maintaining strong, strategic relationships.
  • Lead due diligence and risk reviews of new and existing partners in collaboration with legal and compliance functions.
  • Help define and execute on the company’s long-term expansion strategy across key geographies.


What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience building and managing relationships with banks, payment providers, or fintechs—preferably in a high-growth or BaaS/payments environment
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to own contracts and partner discussions end-to-end
  • A proactive mindset and ability to independently manage multiple workstreams and priorities
  • Sound understanding of embedded finance, cross-border payments, and digital banking models
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills—comfortable navigating conversations across Legal, Risk, Product, and Tech
  • Strong communicator, with the ability to influence internal and external teams
  • A natural networker who thrives in collaborative, international environments
  • Commercially sharp with a hands-on approach to execution
  • Passion for innovation and a genuine curiosity about the fintech landscape
