Parts Associate, Marine Industry
Job DescriptionJob Description
Parts Associate, Marine Industry
Keep the work moving—and grow with us. TDW Marine services and repairs marine diesel engines and generators on South Florida’s top yachts. We’re hiring a Parts Associate who makes sure technicians have the right parts staged on time and our workshop mission-ready. If you want to be part of a growing company where you can build your career, this is your lane.
What you’ll do
-
Stage Service Parts Orders
Pull from stock and incoming stock using pick tickets/work orders, verify part numbers/quantities, bag & tag (job #, cores/serials), and stage kits in the correct bay/rack—on time, every time. -
Check-in & Put-away
Receive deliveries, match to packing slips/POs, label, and bin accurately; flag shortages/damage to the Parts Manager. -
Deliveries & Pickups
Load/unload and deliver staged parts to shop bays or job sites as needed; collect cores/returns and maintain chain-of-custody. -
Workshop & Parts Area Upkeep
Keep shelves, bins, and aisles tidy and labeled (FIFO), so parts are easy to find and issue. -
Field Service Vehicle Readiness
Run weekly checklists to restock, clean, and inspect vans/trucks (consumables, fluids, PPE, lights/tires); schedule routine service; track mileage/registrations so vehicles are always ready to roll. -
Inventory & Documentation
Issue parts to job numbers in the system (training provided), perform light cycle counts, and keep records clean for billing and close-out. -
Team Coordination
Communicate status/ETAs clearly with the Parts Manager, Service Coordinator, and technicians.
What you bring
-
1–3+ years in parts, inventory, or service support (marine/automotive/industrial helpful).
-
Clean driving record and valid driver’s license; confident driving vans in marina/yard settings.
-
Detail & organization: You like neat shelves, clear labels, and 100% complete kits.
-
Reliable communicator: Quick, clear updates to the team and vendors.
-
Physical readiness: Lift/carry up to 50 lbs; stand, bend, and work in shop/yard heat/humidity.
-
Forklift experience/certification; basic hazmat-shipping awareness (or willingness to certify).
Nice to have
-
Familiarity with marine diesel/generator parts (MTU, Volvo Penta, CAT; Northern Lights, Kohler, Westerbeke).
-
Comfort with inventory software, spreadsheets, and label printing/barcoding.
Growth & benefits
-
Grow with a company that’s growing: clear paths to Senior Parts, Purchasing/Logistics, or Operations roles—with mentorship and cross-training.
-
Competitive hourly pay (OT-eligible) + TDW benefits: medical/vision/dental, life insurance, 401(k) with match, 9 paid holidays, PTO, and on-the-job training.
