We’re looking for a part-time Senior Corporate IT Systems/Network Engineer to strengthen our Corporate IT team’s support of ARES’ internal and cloud infrastructure. You’ll ensure Microsoft 365, GCC High, and on-premises systems run smoothly—and help shape the future of our IT environment.
This position can be remote or based near one of our current offices in Houston, Huntsville, or McLean, VA. We expect the position will require 20-25 hours per week.

Core Responsibilities
- Handle onboarding/offboarding tasks and Active Directory account management
- Administer Microsoft 365 & GCC High (Teams, SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive)
- Provide East Coast morning Help Desk support
- Update and maintain the intranet (WordPress experience is a plus)
- Lead small projects, system clean-ups, and automation efforts
- Deploy patches and configure laptops for new hires
- Troubleshoot network connections and office hardware
- Keep audit records and technical documentation up to date
Must-Have Experience & Skills
- 5+ years in IT systems or network engineering (senior level )
- Proven Microsoft 365/Cloud security background
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to juggle competing priorities and adapt quickly
- Comfortable working independently with flexible hours
Technical Toolbox
- Microsoft 365 administration (setup, security, compliance)
- SharePoint, Exchange & Teams management
- Intune device management (laptops, mobile devices)
- Hybrid on-prem/cloud infrastructure support
- Familiarity with Kaseya suite (VSA, Vorex, Spanning, IT Glue)
- Hardware diagnostics, Windows 11 upgrades, and backup solutions for both Om premise and Cloud
Nice-to-Have
- Networking fundamentals and Windows Server knowledge
- CMMC or similar compliance framework exposure
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, Concur, or ADP
- Associate degree or higher desired
