Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary/Company: The Research Assistant plays a key role in supporting the Science and Technology team by monitoring, collecting, and organizing data related to alternative protein science. Your close collaboration with the team will ensure the organization's tracking systems are current, reliable, and comprehensive. This position is perfect for someone with a sharp eye for accuracy, a passion for working with structured data, and a dedication to detail and consistency.

Responsibilities:

  • Track Industry Trends: Monitor alternative protein companies and suppliers for key news, announcements, and updates using tools (e.g., Google Alerts, Crunchbase). Triage and summarize findings, documenting relevant developments for internal tracking.

  • Monitor Technical Literature: Follow scientific publications (journals, patents, etc.) across the full alternative protein value chain (raw materials to manufacturing), focusing primarily on plant-based meat. Evaluate relevance and systematically log updates in GFI's internal systems.

  • Manage Database Operations: Perform data entry and maintenance to ensure internal industry and literature databases are current and standardized.

  • Complete Development Tracker: Finalize and populate the industry and literature development tracker for Q3 and Q4 2025.

  • General Support: Execute other duties as assigned.


Qualifications/Background Profile:

  • Ensuring data integrity through meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy.
  • Proven capacity to efficiently organize and manage large, complex datasets and information volumes.
  • Adept at advanced online research and rapid information synthesis across diverse sources.
  • Expertise in spreadsheet software (Excel, Sheets, Airtable) and Google Workspace, leveraging tools for effective data management.
  • Communicate complex information clearly and concisely through strong written and verbal channels.
  • : Experience applying foundational academic research principles and conducting literature reviews across various scientific disciplines.
  • : Prior exposure to patent research and analytical methodologies.
  • Must pass background check
