Location: Frontiers of Flight Museum, Dallas, TX

Schedule: Part-Time (12–20 hours per week)

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour, based on experience.

Position Summary:

The Frontiers of Flight Museum is seeking a reliable and skilled Part-Time Maintenance Worker to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring that our facilities—including restrooms, exhibit areas, offices, and public spaces—remain in excellent working condition for our visitors and staff. This position requires general handyman skills with a focus on basic plumbing, electrical repairs, and overall upkeep.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building systems and fixtures (e.g., toilets, sinks, door hardware, light bulbs, ballasts).

1. Address general facility needs including painting, patching, minor drywall repairs, and other touch-ups as needed.
2. Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical issues across museum spaces, including restrooms and visitor areas.
3. Assist with basic HVAC filter changes and scheduled maintenance.
4. Conduct regular walk-throughs of the property to identify and resolve maintenance concerns.
5. Coordinate with outside contractors as needed and report larger issues to management.
6. Respond to emergency maintenance requests.
7. Follow all museum safety and security protocols.

Requirements:

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in general maintenance, facility repair, or a related field.
• Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders or working in tight spaces.
• Flexibility to work mornings, weekends, or special events as needed.
• Experience working in a museum, educational institution, or public facility.
