Job Summary
Our client is seeking a reliable Part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to join their organization's team. This role is essential in ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of their facility. The technician will perform a variety of light maintenance tasks with a proactive approach, ensuring a clean, safe, and secure environment for all staff and visitors.
The Part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with light building repairs: Perform minor fixes such as repairing broken locks, patching drywall, minor painting, and addressing general wear and tear of the facility.
- Trash removal: Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables from all areas, ensuring proper waste management and a consistently tidy environment.
- Snow removal: Clear snow and ice from walkways, entryways, and common areas as
- Restocking product: Monitor inventory and restock essential supplies such as restroom products (paper towels, soap, etc.) and other communal items.
- Changing light bulbs: Perform regular maintenance tasks, including replacing light bulbs and ballasts as needed across the facility.
- Routine Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify potential hazards or maintenance concerns proactively and report them to management.
- Grounds Upkeep: Assist with light exterior maintenance, which may include tasks like removing weeds, leaf removal, or general tidiness of outdoor areas.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety guidelines and maintain a safe working environment, testing safety systems as required.
- Record Keeping: Maintain basic records of maintenance and repair activities performed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Excellent customer service skills: A professional and friendly demeanor when interacting with staff, visitors, and potential customers.
- Reliability and Self-Motivation: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a strong attention to detail is essential.
- Basic Technical Knowledge: A foundational understanding of general maintenance processes, methods, and the use of hand and power tools.
- Physical Stamina: Must possess the manual dexterity and physical ability necessary to perform a variety of maintenance tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Very good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and management.
- Experience (Plus): Proven experience in a facility maintenance, custodial, or similar role is desirable.
