PARKS MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR

Grade 15, Full-time/Regular

Tooele City is currently accepting applications from current employees for the position of Parks Maintenance Supervisor to lead a dedicated team in maintaining the safety, cleanliness, and overall quality of our parks, cemetery, and recreational facilities. This working supervisor role blends hands-on maintenance tasks with team leadership, operational oversight, and project coordination.

An example of a work day may include:

  • Supervising and assigning daily tasks, training staff, and managing performance.
  • Inspecting parks, cemetery, and facilities to ensure safety and maintenance standards.
  • Coordinating use and maintenance of equipment, vehicles, and materials.
  • Responding to public inquiries, resolving service issues, and maintaining accurate records.
  • Performing hands-on maintenance work and responding to after-hours or emergency call-outs.

To be considered you will need:

  • A High school diploma or GED.
  • At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping, or construction.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
  • Valid Utah driver license with 12 months experience driving (not including time for learner's permit), and have and maintain a driving record acceptable for Tooele City's insurance and risk management standards.
  • Must possess a valid Utah Commercial Driver's License and medical card (or obtain within 12 months).
  • Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Confined space entry certification (or ability to obtain for supervisor, attendant, and entrant roles).
  • Proficiency and internal certification on equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, and forklifts.
  • Ability to respond to call-outs as needed, including 24-hour standby during snow events or emergencies.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and maintain confidence of Tooele City as it pertains to working in a position of trust in proximity to children.
