Job Description
Electrical Panel Wireman / Installation Engineer – Peterborough\n\nLocation: Peterborough (with UK Site Work as Required)\n Contract: Ongoing Contract (Long-Term Opportunity)\n Rate: £22.00p/h (Umbrella / LTD)\n Hours: Monday to Friday – 10-hour days (occasional weekend work for site projects)\n Immediate Start\n\nOur client is a well-established engineering business supplying bespoke automation and control systems across the food and manufacturing industries. With over 40 years of experience, they provide full in-house design, build, and installation of electrical systems—supporting major brands and global manufacturing groups.\n\nThey are now looking for an experienced Electrical Panel Wireman / Installation Engineer to join their team on a contract. The role will be split between workshop-based panel wiring and on-site work.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nPanel Wiring: Build and wire electrical control panels from schematic drawings within the workshop\nInstallation: Carry out site-based installation of control panels and associated machinery\nModification: Perform electrical modifications and cable installations on existing systems\nTesting: Undertake basic electrical testing and checks prior to commissioning\nCabling: Cable pulling and terminations as required during site works\nEnsure all work is completed safely, accurately, and to high technical standards\nThe Successful Candidate Requires:\n\nRecognised Electrical Qualification (Apprenticeship / NVQ Level 3 / Equivalent)\nExperience in panel building, machine wiring, or electrical installation\nCompetent in reading and interpreting electrical schematics\nECS card\nBackground in manufacturing, automation, or engineering industries beneficial\nStrong work ethic with the ability to integrate well into an established team\nFlexibility to travel and work away from home when required (expenses covered)\nBenefits:\n\nCompetitive hourly rate – from £22.00p/h\nUmbrella or LTD options available\nAccommodation, travel, and food expenses covered when working away\nOvertime available\nLong-term opportunity with consistent projects and strong pipeline of work\nI am looking to speak to talented Panel Wirers who are looking for a rewarding and highly challenging position.
