You will make our world better by:

  • Researching alternatives to current non-sustainable packaging materials, including visiting factories to understand in detail alternatives, risks, and costs;
  • Share new/ alternative materials globally and work with the other technologists to find like-for-like materials in different regions.
  • Work with project teams to develop sustainable packaging.
  • Evaluate current packaging materials, designs, and processes to identify areas of improvement in terms of sustainability.
  • Identify opportunities for waste reduction, increase recyclability and use of renewable materials.
  • Conduct life cycle assessments and evaluate the impacts of packaging throughout its life cycle.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure all legal requirements for individual countries are complied with, for example, but not limited to: Waste Packaging Regulations UK, Plastic Packaging Tax regulations UK

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 + years of essential experience in packaging development and sustainability, preferably in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design principals and sustainability best practices.
  • Knowledge of EU legislation and UK plastic act.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to packaging.
  • Ability to analyse complex data conduct life cycle assessments.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Passion for sustainability and a drive to make a positive environmental impact

You will work side by side with our global teams (Creative and engineering team, project managers, QA and QC team) with frequent communications to our EU, US and Mexico teams.
