The Overhead Crane Operator reports to the Foreman and safely operates gantry cranes, bridge cranes, and other overhead crane types to handle steel and metal products, construction materials, and mixed industrial materials. The role involves movement between work areas, facilities, and job sites as needed, with a strong focus on safe, efficient material handling and equipment compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate gantry cranes, bridge cranes, and multiple overhead crane types.
• Handle and position steel, metal products, construction materials, and mixed industrial materials.
• Inspect rigging and crane equipment before operation.
• Coordinate with signal personnel during lifting and material movement.
• Place materials accurately and safely at designated locations.
• Follow all applicable safety requirements and maintain OSHA-compliant operations.
• Report maintenance needs, equipment issues, and operational concerns.
• Maintain clean and orderly worksites while moving between facilities and job sites as required.

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of overhead crane operation experience.
• NCCCO Overhead Crane Operator certification.
• OSHA-compliant crane operator qualification.
