OT Systems & Controls Engineer

Location: Monroe, NC

**Must be able to work as a 1099 Contractor**

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced OT Systems & Controls Engineer to support and enhance operational technology (OT) infrastructure across industrial manufacturing environments. This role will focus on industrial networking, controls integration, cybersecurity, and system connectivity across plant operations.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of industrial controls systems, network communications, OT cybersecurity, and manufacturing operations technology. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring reliable communication between industrial devices, PLCs, HMIs, cameras, and plant systems while supporting ongoing modernization and operational continuity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, troubleshoot, and support OT/ICS network infrastructure within manufacturing environments
• Integrate industrial devices, PLCs, HMIs, cameras, and operational systems onto plant networks
• Support configuration and communication of OT devices using IP-based networking principles
• Troubleshoot network communication issues between operational equipment and enterprise systems
• Assist with cybersecurity initiatives related to OT and industrial control systems
• Configure and support Active Directory integration within operational environments
• Support secure remote access, device authentication, and network segmentation initiatives
• Work with operations and engineering teams to maintain reliable system uptime and data flow
• Support industrial camera and monitoring systems used in operations environments
• Assist with system commissioning, troubleshooting, and startup activities
• Support connectivity and communications between OT systems and enterprise platforms
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, controls modernization, and plant technology initiatives

Technical Experience

• Operational Technology (OT) / Industrial Control Systems (ICS)
• Industrial networking and Ethernet communications
• PLC/HMI environments
• IP addressing, routing, switching, and network communications
• Active Directory administration and integration
• OT cybersecurity best practices
• Industrial device configuration and commissioning
• Manufacturing systems communications and data collection
• Industrial camera systems and operational monitoring platforms
• SCADA/HMI platforms, preferably:
• • Aviva/Wonderware InTouch
• Experience working in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments

Qualifications

• Experience supporting manufacturing operations technology systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities
• Understanding of cybersecurity principles within OT environments
• Ability to work cross-functionally with operations, maintenance, controls, and IT teams
• Experience supporting uptime-critical production environments
