Operations Manager\n\nLocation: York - Holgate HQ\nDepartment: Operations\nSalary: Dependent on Experience\nHours: 39.5\nContract Type: Permanent\n \nAs we continue to grow, we’re excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join our team!\n \nReporting to the Senior Operations Manager, you’ll balance operational delivery with structured project management, ensuring both “business as usual” activity and project work are effectively planned, prioritised, and delivered to a high standard. This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring confident decision making, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to adapt quickly when priorities shift. \n \nWhat you’ll be doing\n \nYou’ll take accountability for operational performance and site standards, including:\n\nLeading daily and weekly operational planning, ensuring workflow is prioritised and resourced effectively\nManaging, coaching and developing Team Leaders and Supervisors to deliver consistent performance\nActing as a senior escalation point for operational issues, service risks and site incidents\nMonitoring performance and driving improvements across productivity and service quality\nManaging facilities activity including repairs, maintenance and refurbishment work\nSourcing and managing quotes/tenders and coordinating contractor activity on site\nManaging supplier and contractor relationships, ensuring compliance with site rules and H&S standards\nSupporting site security arrangements and maintaining a safe, well-run working environment\nIdentifying inefficiencies, implementing practical solutions and embedding sustainable change\nLeading cross-functional projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring actions, timelines and outcomes are tracked\nProviding clear updates to senior leadership on progress, risks, performance and delivery against objectives\n \nAbout you\n \nTo succeed in this role, you’ll be an experienced operational leader with a structured, proactive approach, alongside:\n\nProven experience in an operations or delivery-focused role within a fast-paced environment\nStrong people leadership skills, with experience managing Team Leaders and Supervisors\nConfident managing third-party suppliers, contractors and facilities-related activity\nStrong planning and prioritisation skills, with the ability to adapt quickly when priorities change\nExperience delivering projects and improvements across multiple teams and stakeholders\nA practical, hands-on approach with a continuous improvement mindset\nStrong communication skills with the confidence to challenge, influence and drive accountability\n \nQualifications \n\nILM or CMI Level 5 or equivalent\nIOSH and/or NEBOSH certification\nLean / Six Sigma and/or Prince2 (desirable)\n \nWhy join Gear4music?\n \nThis is an opportunity to play a key role in a growing, international e-commerce business, where well-run operations really matter.
