Pay Range: $40-53/hour

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Operations Manager is responsible for meeting the customers’ needs and assuring good customer service through managing the day-to-day operations of the lab. This includes managing the operations team and auditing their deliverables; scheduling projects, staffing technicians and equipment to meet project specifications; developing strong customer relations and reacting promptly to customers and operational questions and concerns; and responsibility for the business unit’s financial performance. The Operations Manager will also maintain a high functioning employee base through solid HR practices and safety education and awareness programs.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

General Functions:

  • Manage daily activities and costs associated within department.
  • Supervise individuals within the operations team as it relates to projects and respond to calls from customers.
  • Problem solve and provide clear, supported, and concise recommendations to management.
  • Utilize key performance indicators to increase operational efficiency and project profitability.
  • Collaborate closely with the finance team to ensure a comprehensive understanding of division profit and loss statements and to drive positive economic performance.
  • Serve as back up to the General Manager in their absence or upon request.
  • Review and approve expense reports submitted by the operations team.
  • Properly complete all required forms and paperwork.
  • Provide administrative office assistance as needed.

Logistical Resource Management:

  • Responsible for project staffing and scheduling.
  • Manager of the Gear/Equipment Manager.
  • Manage and track all company assets such as trucks, access baskets, platforms, trailers, Bronto trucks, etc.
  • Ensure proper use of all company resources, including tools, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Oversee maintenance of shop and equipment.

Human Resources:

  • Support evaluating field technician’s effectiveness in fulfilling their job requirements.
  • Recommend corrective or remedial action for employees.
  • Understand all prerequisites required of personnel after performing field work.
  • Promote and fully understand the policies set forth in the following manuals:
    • Drug and Alcohol manual
    • Safety Policy Manual

Safety:

  • Ensure required training for field and supervisory personnel on safety, policies, and procedures.
  • Evaluate job safety to include all aspects of job performance for all service lines.

Customer/Project Manager Support:

  • Serve as liaison with customers to assist Sales/Business Development to estimate and quote project work.
  • Coordinate and schedule work crews to cover customer requirements and requests.
  • Coordinate schedules of all technician teams per customer expectations.

Additional Requirements:

  • Complete all required training and testing, within company guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of all company products and services that are available to our customers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of management experience required.
  • Experience in logistics management is .
  • Excellent communication skills to foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Background in sales and/or marketing is a plus.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
