Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our manufacturing and custom fabrication processes. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing operations, a deep understanding of custom fabrication techniques, and a proven track record of implementing innovative solutions in niche industries. As the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency, quality, and profitability of our production processes while maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
- Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase productivity
- Manage and optimize the custom fabrication process, ensuring high-quality output and timely delivery
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align manufacturing processes with overall business objectives
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices
- Lead and mentor a team of production supervisors, technicians, and support staff
- Manage inventory levels, supply chain logistics, and vendor relationships
- Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in manufacturing and custom fabrication
- Collaborate with the R&D team to integrate new technologies and processes into existing manufacturing operations
- Develop and manage budgets for the manufacturing department
- Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of manufacturing equipment and facilities
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and contribute to the company's long-term growth initiatives
- Foster a culture of innovation, quality, and continuous improvement within the manufacturing team
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
- Proven expertise in custom fabrication processes and techniques
- In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, and other process improvement methodologies
- Strong understanding of quality management systems and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001)
- Proficiency in manufacturing software and ERP systems
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
