The company is looking for an Operations Manager for the PM Shift. This position is primarily Monday- Friday with some Saturdays as deemed necessary and is paid a competitive wage depending on experience. Position Summary: Possess a comprehensive working knowledge of Production operations and demonstrates strong analytical and interpersonal skills. The Operations Manager is responsible for executing plant objectives including operational, safety, inventory control, associate development and quality and customer service. This is a very active "hands-on" management position.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School education, college degree , equivalent laundry management experience acceptable or 3 to 5 years of experience in manufacturing, production or service industry with managerial responsibilities.
- Must be analytical, possess organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to analyze cost performance data to improve operations and reduce costs.
- Proficient computer knowledge and the willingness to progress with new computer applications.
- Interacts appropriately with employees and directs their daily activities. Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must be able to instruct employees how to operate equipment in a safe manner.
- Experience with employee relations; must be able to direct and motivate employees to achieve all production requirements; possess a positive attitude with the ability to lead a team. Promote employee development. Able to hold associates accountable for performance.
- Knowledgeable of all company personnel policies.
- Ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment; willing to work in unfavorable conditions such as hot and cold temperatures.
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and holidays depending on the business demands.
- The position requires the ability to repetitively bend, stretch, push and lift up to 50 pounds.
- The position requires constant standing and/or walking 100% of the workday.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Plant Manager in scheduling sufficient staff to meet the required daily and weekly workload. Involved in goal setting for the plant and execution of plant production goals. Coordinated plant shutdown and records daily attendance. Perform special projects and other duties as needed.
- Participate in daily production meetings and coordinate workflow and staffing accordingly to ensure optimal productivity. Plans work schedules to meet production goals and deadlines. As needed, operate equipment and perform duties related to the successful operation of the plant.
- Assure the distribution and completion of work assignments by the work in accordance with the work-in-progress report and shipping requirements. Report all delays and product shortages to the Plant Manager promptly.
- Perform employee Annual Safety Training, including PPE, Blood Pathogens, Hazardous Communications, and Lockout/Tagout (Videos/Testing)
- Hold monthly safety meetings to ensure safety guidelines are being upheld throughout the plant operations.
- Directs the activities of Production employees; motivates and encourages subordinates. Foster a team environment by promoting open channels of positive communication, builds commitment to a common vision, implements proactive measures to ensure positive employee relations.
- Maintain departments in a clean, orderly and safe fashion. Monitors and enforces safety and housekeeping standards.
- Recommends and implements process improvement measures.
