The Operations Manager in Equipment Finance ensures seamless end-to-end operations across collections and title/records administration (including UCC, insurance, collateral, and titles). ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collections
- Lead and manage the collections team; set departmental goals, monitor KPIs, and ensure timely and accurate recoveries.
- Develop and implement collection strategies and policies to minimize delinquencies while maintaining customer relationships.
- Oversee case escalations and negotiate settlements in line with company policy and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor and report on collections performance metrics; identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with applicable collection laws and internal standards.
Title / Records / Collateral / UCC / Insurance
- Lead and manage teams responsible for UCC filing, titles, insurance tracking, records management, and collateral services.
- Audit, track, and escalate issues related to critical title and record operations.
- Implement remediation and improvements as needed.
- Collaborate with IT/technology partners to automate processes, enhance efficiency, and maintain risk levels.
- Maintain accurate documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs), ensuring regulatory and internal compliance.
Operational Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Oversee staffing, training, performance evaluations, and professional development across both collections and title functions.
- Drive process improvements and workflow optimizations through analytics, portfolio diagnostics, and automation.
- Build strong working relationships with cross-functional departments—Sales, Originations, Finance, Risk, and Technology—to align on strategies and resolve operational issues.
- Prepare reports and dashboards to communicate performance, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership.
Requirements:
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Requires frequent sitting for prolonged periods of time in an office setting.
- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator, and other office equipment.
- Ability to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional manner.
- Ability to receive and analyze data and input into the computer.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
- Normal range of hearing and vision.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field required.
- Minimum 8–10 years in financial services operations, ideally in equipment finance, asset-based lending, or banking.
- At least 5 years in management roles overseeing collections, title, or related operational teams.
- Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and operational tools; experience with PowerBI or similar systems .
- Analytical mindset with process improvement (Six Sigma or or similar experience beneficial).
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance in collections and titles.
