Are you an Operations, Purchasing or Manufacturing professional from an engineering or technical background, looking for a highly varied and hands-on role within a well-established, specialist scientific instrumentation company working at the cutting edge of physics and analytical chemistry?

On offer is a unique opportunity to join a small, highly technical engineering business designing and building bespoke vacuum-physics instrumentation and mass spectrometry systems used in world-leading research projects across atmospheric chemistry, medical diagnostics, materials science and high energy physics.

In this role, you will take ownership of delivering highly specialised scientific instrumentation from design through to manufacture and global shipment, managing technical procurement, production coordination, and international dispatch. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to ensure complex systems are built, tested and delivered to exacting standards in a small, highly technical environment.

This role would suit someone with a technical background, looking for a highly varied and hands-on position within a well-established, specialist scientific instrumentation company working at the cutting edge of physics and analytical chemistry.

The Role

- Technical procurement of specialist engineering and scientific components, including supplier management, quotations and order tracking
- Coordination of technician workload and mechanical assembly, working closely with design engineers to resolve technical and build issues
- Management of order processing, project setup, and operational workflow to ensure smooth delivery of projects
- Oversight of international shipping, export documentation and compliance, with a structured handover from the current Operations Manager

- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Commutable to Ely, Cambridgeshire
