Operations Manager - Energy Centres\n\n£65k per annum & vehicle allowance & package \n\nLondon \n\nMy client is a leading and established M&E and Energy Services contractor with a superb reputation and a great reputation, due to continued growth they are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the daily management, performance, and optimisation of key energy centres on a variety of sites in London. This role will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of energy and distribution assets, including combined heat and power (CHP), boilers, chillers, and associated plant and equipment. The Operations Manager will lead a team of engineers and technicians while collaborating with stakeholders to meet service level agreements, sustainability goals, and commercial objectives.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nOperational Management\nLead day-to-day operations of multiple energy centres, ensuring high availability, safety, and compliance.\nDevelop and implement operational procedures, maintenance schedules, and efficiency improvement programmes.\nMonitor plant performance and energy outputs, using data-driven insights to optimise efficiency and reduce downtime.\nTeam Leadership & Development\nManage, mentor, and develop engineering and technical staff, ensuring appropriate training and competency.\nFoster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nOversee contractor performance and coordinate external service providers.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Engagement\nAct as the primary point of contact for clients, regulators, and key stakeholders regarding operational matters.\nProvide performance reports, energy data, and insights to internal and external stakeholders.\nBuild strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.Qualifications & Experience\n\nDegree (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, or Process Engineering.\nProven track record in managing energy centres, district heating/cooling systems, or large-scale industrial plant operations.\nStrong knowledge of CHP, boilers, chillers, pumps, controls, and energy distribution networks.\nDemonstrated experience in managing teams, budgets, and contractors.\nSound understanding of HSE legislation, compliance frameworks, and risk management.\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.Key Competencies\n\nLeadership and team management\nStrategic and operational planning\nTechnical expertise in energy systems\nCommercial and financial acumen\nStrong communication and stakeholder management\nContinuous improvement mindset \n\nThis is an excellent opportunity to work for an established and successful Energy Management and M&E specialist, who enjoy excellent staff retention rates, opportunity to work with emerging technologies and a structured career path.\n\nPlease contact Russ Cleverley in CONFIDENCE to discuss further
