Job Description
Our client, a global industry-leading manufacturer, has hired us to find an Operations Manager in the northern Columbus Area. The manager leads end-to-end plant operations to drive safe, high-quality, and cost-effective production that supports the company’s mission and growth objectives. This role provides strategic direction, oversight, and hands-on leadership to optimize performance across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, and People Development. They plan, organize, and control manufacturing resources to deliver budgeted results while championing continuous improvement and employee development.
Key responsibilities
- Provide clear manufacturing direction to safely deliver quality, cost-effective products on time, every time, in partnership with customers, suppliers, and teammates.
- Assure compliance with the safety management system and lead ongoing initiatives to improve safety performance across the site.
- Build machine and organizational capabilities to meet specifications and exceed consumer expectations, sustaining and enhancing a robust quality management system.
- Achieve target-or-better customer service and cost performance through strong conformance to plan, metrics-driven accountability, and operational intensity.
- Develop and elevate team capabilities via effective training, coaching, and direction while driving cross-functional collaboration, project execution, and cost/performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years leading production operations in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing tools and programs
- Certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt are
