Operations Manager - Construction

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join our expanding team, supporting our clients on a range of projects in the pharmaceutical construction sector.

Although our Head Office is in Darlington, this role will be UK wide, therefore the candidate is required to travel to and from the various sites along with working in our Head Office.


Your Role


Reporting to the Operations Associate, you will be required to prove an excellent track record of construction/contract management and understand the construction industry, ideally within the Pharmaceutical/Life Sciences sector.


The key accountabilities:


  • Management of all UK based staff associated with Construction Management and Project Management
  • Progress monitoring & reporting
  • KPI monitoring
  • Health & Safety performance
  • Quality Management
  • Scheduling of staff allocation
  • Resource forecasting and planning
  • Business development
  • Delivery of works aligned to the required timescales and quality standards
  • Ensuring that the service is adequately resourced at all times to meet workload demand
  • Management and reporting of service delivery performance internally and externally
  • Contribute to the setting of budgets and forecasts to ensure consistent, challenging but deliverable approach adopted
  • Understand, anticipate and deliver client requirements in terms of budget allocation, service spend and providing value for money


About You


  • You will have experience in the Construction industry. Experience within the process/pharma industries would be preferable.
  • Pre-construction and construction management and planning experience
  • Good working knowledge of construction methods, materials, and relevant legislation
  • Organised and methodical
  • Commercial and contractual awareness
  • Highly motivated to deliver customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate leadership skills that will inspire the team to succeed
  • Demonstrate an ability to successfully lead an operational team
  • Experience in the efficient and effective management of resources
  • Commercial Awareness
  • Good interpersonal skills; communication, can provide clear direction.


Experience:


  • 5 years experience as Contracts Manager/Operations Manager
  • Pharma/Life Sciences Construction experience: 2 years ()
