MUHSEN is a nonprofit organization serving families and individuals with intellectual, mental, and physical disabilities. MUHSEN works to establish inclusive and accessible North American Muslim communities for individuals with disabilities and their families. We do this through engaging in community advocacy and education (Awareness) and implementing and encouraging programs and services (Accommodation), leading ultimately to inclusive and welcoming communities (Acceptance).
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will play a vital role in serving and interfacing with many aspects of running the organization as well as in many areas including operational and project management, budget management and partnerships which are nationwide.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Operations
- Oversee MUHSEN’s organizational processes and add improvements to it
- Oversee Departments including Finance and Administration, Travel, Governance and IT
- Long-term strategic planning to create initiatives that further MUHSEN’s overall goals
- Identify trends and assess opportunities to improve processes and execution.
- Coordinating different teams to foster exchange of ideas and provide cross-team learning opportunities
- Identifying potential problems and bottlenecks and working to find solutions in order to maximize operational efficiency
- Identifying opportunities to expand or shift course based on needs in the community
- Spokesperson and Advocate role as MUHSEN Management, PR, Speaking, Representing in different capacities.
- Occasional travel as scheduled and agreed to for Conventions and Collaborative Events, in and out-of-state.
Budget
- Oversee budgeting, reporting, planning, and auditing.
- Financial Planning for Sustainability and Growth
- Forecast requirements
- Prepare an annual budget
- Schedule expenditures
- Analyze variances
- Initiating corrective actions
- Assessing and analyzing program budgets to find ways to minimize expenses and optimize available budget
Partnerships and Collaborations
- Evaluating, managing and handling Sponsorships and Partnerships and all Collaborations
Legal/Compliance
- Ensure all policies follow legal and compliance guidelines
- Manage all insurance as required for workplace and organization wide
This position is Full-Time and requires a commitment of approximately 35-40 hours a week. Depending on program needs, 10-15% travel and/or weekend availability may also be required.
