SUMMARY:

Without the strength of our Operations team, we would not be able to offer the industry-leading service we’re known for. We’re seeking an experienced Director of Operations Professional. The ideal candidate will have proven industry experience as a Director of Operations.

ABOUT US:

As a strong communicator and skilled hands-on Director of Operations, you will coordinate and manage all operational aspects of Quality, Production, Manufacturing, Office Administration, Information Systems, Prototype Machine Shop, Test Operations, Facilities and Security.  Facilitates a healthy organization and work environment.  Prepares and implements “standard” operational procedures as defined by the executive management.  Provides advice to the President on needs and shortcomings that affect efficient operation and growth of the company. 

KARMAN SPACE & DEFENSE: Karman is the market leading suppliers of metallic and composite flight hardware and sub-assemblies for the space, missile, and hypersonic markets. Karman offers an unprecedented capability set to customers, creating a supply chain solution in a historically fragmented supply base. The Karman team draws on in-house expertise in engineering & design, precision machining, large part forming, welding, heat , finishing, assembly, ablative & insulative composites, and other capabilities to serve as a strategic partner to customers. Karman is headquartered in greater Los Angeles and currently has 5 locations in Southern California, 1 location in Mukilteo, Washington and 1 location in Wilsonville, Oregon.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the President with the evaluation process of corporate issues 
• Provide strategic leadership in determining and prioritizing objectives 
• Develop polices, identify ends/outcomes for the company 
• Advises on and leads policy development 
• Ensure the corporate policies are relevant and up to date 
• Adheres to the established roles of a policy  
• Facilitates a healthy work environment 
• Guardian of the organization’s values 
• Committed to and understands the purpose, policies and programs of the corporation 
• Participates in issues resolution and promotes the benefits and values of the company 
• Provide for and maintain a safe working environment. 
• Manage personnel, performance issues, disciplinary measures, and the evaluation of subordinates. 
• Ensures the appropriate training of staff and effective, efficient work management. 
• Create a culture of continuous improvement 
• Establish and maintain a quality system that meets the requirements of a diverse product

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology 
• Minimum of 10 years related experience. 
• Knowledge of PC and/or Workstation based tools relevant to operational management.
