Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and driven Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Paso Robles Tank, Inc.at either our Hemet or Paso Robles location. This position is responsible for optimizing all aspects of manufacturing, installation, and maintenance functions. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in operations leadership within the construction or industrial sectors, with strong strategic planning, team management, and quality assurance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operational Strategy
- Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals.
- Oversee end-to-end execution of manufacturing, field installation, and maintenance operations.
- Drive process improvements to increase productivity, reduce costs, and elevate customer satisfaction.
2. Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor a cross-functional team including Engineers, Project Managers, Field Superintendents, QA/QC personnel, and support staff.
- Set and evaluate performance goals, provide coaching, and foster a culture of accountability.
- Promote continuous improvement and cross-departmental collaboration.
3. Project Planning and Execution
- Collaborate with project managers to plan and coordinate timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress, proactively resolve delays or issues, and ensure timely delivery.
- Uphold compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and internal protocols.
4. Supplier and Vendor Management
- Manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and services.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure performance aligns with quality and scheduling needs.
5. Quality Assurance
- Ensure operations comply with ISO 9001 and internal quality standards.
- Oversee implementation of quality control processes and lead audits and inspections.
- Promote a company-wide culture of quality and provide employee training as needed.
6. Budgeting and Cost Control
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor expenditures and lead cost control initiatives to improve margins without compromising standards.
7. Reporting and Analytics
- Generate regular reports on operational KPIs, project statuses, and financial performance.
- Analyze trends and recommend data-driven improvements across all departments.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required; Masters degree .
- Minimum 10 years of experience in operations management, preferably in construction or industrial environments.
- Proven leadership in multi-department coordination and cross-functional project execution.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing, construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, team-building, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen.
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Familiarity with UF products and industry standards is a plus.
- Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, and perform physical activities related to field inspections.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work in office, shop, and active construction environments.
