Operations Manager

The Operations Manager supports the Chief Operating Officer (COO) by ensuring smooth daily operations in a trauma-informed, client-centered environment. This role focuses on improving efficiency, maintaining facilities, managing projects, and supporting internal programs through strong organizational and project management skills.
This is an individual contributor position and does not have direct reports.
Essential Job FunctionsOperations & Administration

• Oversee day-to-day operations for client-facing programs and support departments.
• Streamline workflows, improve procedures, and ensure compliance (ex. HIPAA).
• Coordinate internal all-staff meetings.
• Track and report program outputs and outcomes.

Facilities & Project Management

• Manage maintenance, safety, and cleanliness of physical spaces at GoochlandCares.
• Coordinate with vendors for building systems (HVAC, cleaning, repairs).
• Oversee building access, key control, and emergency protocols (Emergency Action Plan).
• Lead facilities-related projects from scope to completion.
• Maintain organized shared and storage spaces.

Procurement & Vendor Relations

• Order supplies and manage inventory and recurring orders.
• Work with Development for in-kind donations.
• Obtain project quotes and manage vendor relationships.

General

• Support storytelling and volunteer engagement with Development.
• Participate in organizational committees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required; 3+ years facilities/project management experience.
• Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage vendors effectively.
• On-call availability for maintenance emergencies.
• Flexible, organized, detail-oriented, and mission-driven.
