The FinTech Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing both traditional banking operations and fintech initiatives. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of banking processes, financial technologies, and regulatory compliance, and Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) models. The ideal candidate will lead cross-functional teams to ensure operational excellence, drive process improvements, and support the seamless integration of fintech solutions within our banking framework.
Requirements:
Possess a deep understanding of fintech products, including their financial models, vendor relationships, unit economics, fraud prevention strategies, and customer acquisition processes.Experience with Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and BIN sponsorship models is a plusincluding partner onboarding, transaction monitoring, and regulatory oversight.Strong familiarity with payment systems, card issuance, merchant card processing, and program managementincluding compliance with Visa and Mastercard regulations.Knowledge of Jack Henry core banking systems and their integration into fintech platforms is highly desirable.Collaborate with key departmentsmarketing, accounts payable, fraud prevention, customer support, and analyticsto gather and analyze data essential for operational decision-making.Oversee GL and payment reconciliation for each fintech product, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Partner with the product and IT teams to develop new fintech offerings and integrate them seamlessly into the banks infrastructure.Prepare and review monthly accounting reports and reconciliation for each fintech product to ensure financial accuracy.Conduct quarterly and annual budget assessments to track the financial performance of fintech products and ensure alignment with strategic goals.Support and manage the operational aspects of the banks fintech program, ensuring smooth onboarding, integration, and transaction processing in collaboration with fintech review teams.Key Responsibilities:
Operational Strategy and Execution:Develop and implement strategies to optimize daily operations across both traditional banking and fintech platforms.Ensure efficient and smooth operations by managing staff, coordinating with various departments, and implementing policies and procedures to enhance productivity and compliance.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities for process optimization and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.Oversee the daily functions of the bank, ensuring efficient and smooth operations, and implement policies and procedures to enhance productivity and compliance.Oversee the scalability of operational processes to support the banks rapid growth and fintech partnerships.Team Leadership:Lead and mentor operations teams to ensure the successful execution of fintech projects.Manage, inspire, and motivate junior managers to ensure operational excellence, service improvement, and process refinement.Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management:Ensure all operations comply with relevant banking regulations, NACHA rules, and industry standards.Collaborate with compliance and risk management teams to implement and monitor adherence to regulatory requirements.Work closely with Risk and Compliance teams to ensure operational adherence to fraud and regulatory controls in BaaS programs, fintech partnerships, and payment networks.Ensure operational execution of fraud monitoring controls and transaction risk management frameworks in alignment with the Fraud Prevention teams policies and strategies.Monitor and report on risk metrics to senior management.Technology Integration:Oversee the implementation and integration of fintech solutions within existing banking operations.Collaborate with IT and product development teams to ensure technology solutions meet operational and regulatory needs.Client Experience:Ensure a seamless and positive experience for clients interacting with both traditional and digital banking services.Address and resolve partner or client issues promptly and effectively.Qualifications:
Education:Bachelors degree in Finance, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are a plus.Experience:Minimum of 5 years of experience in banking operations, fintech operations, or BaaS-related services.Proven track record of managing and optimizing operational processes in a financial institution or fintech environment.Experience working with Jack Henry core banking systems is a plus.Strong knowledge of BIN sponsorship, ACH, wire transfers, and payment networks.Skills:Strong leadership and team management abilities.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.In-depth understanding of banking regulations and compliance requirements.Proficiency in financial technologies, payment processing, and reconciliation methodologies.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.Experience with third-party fintech partnerships and BaaS operational frameworks.
