Location: The Trafford Centre, Manchester
Salary: up to £50,000
Type: Full-time & Permanent
Hours: Includes 1 in 4 weekends (duty management)
The Opportunity…
Savills Management Resources is looking for a passionate, hands-on, and experienced Operations Manager to lead and innovate across internal and external cleaning operations at The Trafford Centre – one of the UK’s leading retail and leisure destinations.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role overseeing 4 experienced Team Managers and 110+ cleaning professionals. Your mission: elevate service standards, modernise practices, and drive change.
What You'll Be Doing…
- Leading day-to-day operations of environmental services across the centre
- You’ll be able to influence the guest experience through sounds, scent, innovation and out of the box thinking
- Managing 4 Team Managers (2 day, 2 night) and 110+ cleaning team members
- Driving innovation, efficiency, and cleanliness standards
- Reviewing and optimising cleaning schedules, equipment usage, and waste processes
- Developing the team through coaching, feedback, and succession planning
- Working closely with internal departments (HR, Ops, Centre Director) and external stakeholders
- Owning key KPIs around quality, performance, and customer satisfaction
- Supporting cultural transformation and embedding a “people-first” mindset
About You…
Must-have experience:
- Proven experience managing large teams in cleaning, facilities, or service-driven sectors
- Implementation of ‘out the box’ thinking and a strong background in driving customer experience
- Strong understanding of cleaning operations, systems, and equipment
- Inspirational leadership – a motivator who gets the best from long-standing teams
- Excellent stakeholder communication and the ability to influence positive change
- Process-driven, commercially aware, and a natural problem-solver
Desirable:
- Experience in high-footfall environments (retail, leisure, hospitality, etc.)
- IOSH/NEBOSH or willingness to undertake training
- Familiarity with unionised environments and team performance frameworks
