Position: Executive Housekeeper FLSA Status: Non-exempt/Full Time

Salary Range: To be determined based on experience

Reports To: Director Of Operations

Position Overview:

The Housekeeper assists in the managing and directing of the day–to–day operations of all housekeeping and laundry functions (as applicable). They ensure that all operational and office equipment is working properly. The executive housekeeper role involves keeping careful track of all financial records and reports to ensure that they are kept accurate. It also entails ensuring that all financial accounting and inventory records are created in accordance with policies and procedures established by the company.

It is the duty of the executive housekeeper to conduct employee evaluations and merit recommendations. Ensure employees are complying with company policies, check with all employees on the proper punch in and punch out procedures and follow protocol for time clock adjustments and PTO requests. They oversee the functions of the department to make sure that they are always carried out appropriately on a day-to-day basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and reports to help ensure the proper recording of employee punch in and punch outs
  • Ensuring that all financial accounting and inventory records are created in accordance with policies and procedures established by the company
  • Keeping the chief financial officer, chief accountant, and other relevant personnel abreast of inventory turns, supply costs, budget allocations
  • Motivating, coaching and developing team members to provide exceptional services to our guests.
  • Maintaining supply and equipment inventories while monitoring expenditures and cost controls.

Requirements:

  • Must be familiar with self-managing their schedule, used to working successive long days during peak seasons.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
  • Excellent housekeeping & laundry skills and knowledge of cleaning and maintaining luxury surfaces and taking care of fine items.
  • Demonstrated pride and enthusiasm to fulfill requirements.
  • Must be gracious and able to handle difficult situations in a professional, calm, solution minded manner.
  • Ideally, have previous experience as an Executive Housekeeper for a similar volume property.
  • Strong ability to multi-task with excellent time management.
  • A self-starter that can work effectively without constant supervision.
  • Must have exceptional attention to detail.
  • Must always exercise complete discretion and maintain confidentiality.
  • Be able to anticipate and proactively prepare and execute estate/principal/guest needs.
  • Must be solution oriented, able to think outside the box, have demonstrated ownership and accountability and be team oriented.
  • Must have solid comfort and experience working in roles that have evolved continuously in terms to scope, scale, duties and responsibilities.
  • Three years managing/supervising a housekeeping department in a hotel/resort setting.

Qualifications:

Education: A high school diploma is required and a B.A. degree , Bilingual (English – Spanish)

Experience: Minimum 2 years in Housekeeping Inspector, knowledge of federal, state, and local laws governing equal employment opportunity and civil rights, OSHA, wage and hour issues, and labor relations e.g. equal pay Act.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Room Inspector, when is needed, Supervise Housekeeper, Houseman, and linen room attendants. Must be able to communicate instructions effectively with staff members and create a fun and comfortable environment. Must balance constructive criticism with positive feedback.
