About the Role

As the Operations Manager, you will be the linchpin in our warehouse operations, reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager. You will oversee a team of Warehouse Supervisors and Warehouse Operatives, ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

Efficient Warehouse Operations: Manage a multi-user operation, overseeing the seamless receipt, storage, value-adding servicing, and dispatch of a diverse range of products.

Stakeholder Liaison: Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and the transport department to achieve productivity targets and maintain harmonious processes. Your leadership skills will be instrumental in driving success.

Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process enhancement and cost reduction. Implement lean principles and industry best practices to optimize efficiency and maximize revenues.

Inventory Excellence: Design, implement, and maintain effective processes and procedures to improve inventory records and accuracy.

Performance Monitoring: Keep a vigilant eye on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time delivery, and productivity. Allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

Data Mastery: Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and useful data collection for all warehouse activities. Produce weekly, precise activity and productivity reports. Use data analysis to recommend and implement continuous improvement opportunities.

Safety & Quality: Uphold Health & Safety and Quality legislation, ensuring compliance and the highest standards in quality assurance.

Leadership: In the absence of the Senior Operations Manager, you'll step into their shoes and provide effective leadership. Moreover, you will oversee the management, recruitment, and training of new warehouse employees, offering guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.

Key Performance Standards:

Reports: Deliver appropriate, timely, and accurate reports.

Safety: Maintain Health & Safety standards.

Data: Ensure all warehouse data is comprehensive, accurate, and accessible.

Customer Satisfaction: Keep customer complaints to a minimum.

Team Effectiveness: Lead and nurture an appropriately skilled and effective warehouse operations team.

Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing improvements in processes and procedures.
