A leading chemical manufacturing facility in Louisville, KY is seeking a skilled Operations Maintenance Coordinator to act as the key liaison between Production and Maintenance. This role is responsible for overseeing, prioritizing, and coordinating maintenance activities to ensure efficient, safe, and compliant operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership in breakdown management, safety practices, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and verify maintenance work notifications for accuracy and prioritization

Reassign minor tasks to production where appropriate; manage maintenance backlog and closure

Collaborate with planners to develop weekly maintenance schedules and respond to urgent needs

Ensure work is completed to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards

Train staff on SAP/MES related to work orders and documentation

Lead equipment breakdown response and troubleshooting coordination

Develop and implement equipment preparation procedures and SMED studies

Drive continuous improvement projects based on maintenance and production KPIs

Act as ESHA (Environment, Safety, Health, and Administration) lead and Plant Incident Commander
-
Oversee ESHA training and ensure 24/7 emergency readiness

Ensure timely execution of preventive maintenance tasks (e.g., SAMCO, PSM)
-
Gather team feedback to enhance scheduling efficiency and overall performance
-
Support and implement reliability studies and lean initiatives
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field — OR — 10+ years of relevant operations leadership experience

5–10 years of production or maintenance coordination in a chemical manufacturing environment

Strong mechanical and spatial aptitude

Proven experience with root cause analysis, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies

High proficiency in SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and workflow systems

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Customer-focused and service-oriented mindset
Skills:

Experience leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced industrial environments

Familiarity with regulatory compliance related to plant operations and safety

Hands-on experience in developing and executing maintenance improvement plans
