Overview\n\nA leading operator of flexible power assets is seeking an experienced Plant Operations & Maintenance Engineer to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of gas-fired power sites. The role focuses on maximising plant availability, carrying out maintenance and fault-finding activities, supporting commissioning of new assets, and ensuring compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Operate, maintain and troubleshoot reciprocating gas engine power equipment.\n\n * Ensure safe and efficient plant operation in line with operating procedures and OEM guidance.\n\n * Maximise plant availability and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.\n\n * Carry out inspections, repairs, reporting and maintenance record management.\n\n * Identify, resolve and escalate technical and safety issues as required.\n\n * Liaise with the operations team regarding plant performance and availability.\n\n * Supervise contractors and support site activities during commissioning and handover of new projects.\n\n * Participate in an on-call rota and attend emergency breakdowns when required.\n\nRequirements\n\n * Extensive hands-on experience with reciprocating gas engines/generators, including maintenance and fault diagnosis.\n\n * Strong understanding of asset optimisation and plant reliability.\n\n * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider operations team.\n\n * Experience supervising contractors and third-party service providers.\n\n * Full driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.\n\n * Knowledge of peaking power plants and asset management systems would be advantageous
