Operations Analyst

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescriptionAs the Operations Analyst for our Intermodal Division, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining rail vendor tariffs (contracts), researching, and resolving vendor aging files to ensure prompt AP practices, and providing rail tariff support to both internal and external customers.


What you'll do:

• Collaborate with Pricing, Accounts Payable, Customer Service, Operations and IT to research and resolve tariff issues
• Audit rail vendor rates in our proprietary software to ensure compliance
• Work with the Regional Service Centers, Customer Service, Sales, Pricing and Network teams to achieve STG corporate margin and service goals 
• Compile and analyze transactional financial and operations data from business intelligence and source systems to evaluate gaps in planned costs and efficiencies 
• Assist with monthly executive reporting package, identifying changes in market conditions, summarizing efficiency improvements and recapping other market related issues 
• Perform ad hoc analyses and project management as needed 

What you'll have:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work or military experience 
• 2-4 years of experience writing queries in Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) or similar Relational Database Management System
• Ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy, optimize resources and develop, recommend and implement solutions 
• Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources
• 1 year of logistics or transportation experience 
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) 
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
