Position Overview:

GPT Renewables is seeking a dynamic and skilled

Onsite Field Trainer

to lead training programs for our Apprenticeship Program. This role is essential in developing our next of skilled professionals by delivering engaging, hands-on classroom and on-the-job training (OJT) for craft laborers, operators, and electrical apprentices. As an Onsite Field Trainer, you will facilitate training that covers core curriculum, primarily NCCER-based, and ensure trainees master their skills to drive success within our organization.

Responsibilities:

Training Delivery & Facilitation: Conduct structured, interactive training sessions for craft laborers, equipment operators, and electrical apprentices, ensuring adherence to a set curriculum.

On-the-Job Training (OJT): Lead and facilitate OJT to reinforce classroom learning.

Assessments & Support: Regularly evaluate trainee progress and provide additional support as needed, especially for those with learning or barriers.

Preparation & Customization: Review and adjust training materials to meet session needs; prepare necessary equipment, technology, and resources.

Hands-on Integration: Utilize tools, learning aids, and other physical supplements to enhance training effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement: Assess training sessions and implement ongoing enhancements based on feedback.

Tracking & Documentation: Monitor and document trainee progress, grading assignments, and perform competency evaluations.

Collaboration: Partner closely with site leadership and the training/apprenticeship teams to ensure alignment and effective communication.

Support & Availability: Offer regular office hours and makeup sessions to provide additional support.

Professional Development: Attend industry-relevant trainings to stay updated with best practices and bring new insights to the role.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 2-5+ years in utility-grade solar construction, specifically in craft labor, equipment operation, or electrical roles

Previous experience in a safety coordinator role

Certifications: OSHA 30 OR OSHA 510, NABCEP, NCCER certification

: Proficiency in Spanish and/or Haitian Creole

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Effective communicator with strong people skills and a positive attitude

Dependable with excellent time management and problem-solving skills

Ability to hold attention and engage effectively when presenting
