Offshore Operations Technician



Our client a major Oil & Gas operator are looking to add an Operation Technician to their team working Offshore in the Southern North Sea.

Roles will be contract based, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off, 12 hour shifts and initial period will be 12 Months. Rates on offer are strong, employed on a PAYE basis only. 

Candidates must have existing right to work in the UK to be considered and have active BOSIET / MIST and an in date medical. 

Job Role Summary:
This position is integral to work as part of a team to deliver the safe and efficient operation of the Platform Process and Utility systems. Health, Safety and Environmental programmes are key to a successful operation. The individual will be expected to actively support and contribute to the implementation of such activities. This role also requires safe and efficient response to all platform alarms and shutdowns, and the demonstration of being a good team player.
Key Tasks:
• Responsible for the daily operations of the production facilities
• Prepare Work Control Certificate’s and ICC’s for vendor mobilisations and ensure that any spares required are on-board.
• Prepare plant for maintenance, including oil and gas freeing for containment breaks, and take all necessary steps to safely return the equipment to service.
• Ensure that work scope carried out by vendors is complete and that Maximo maintenance system is updated.
• Monitor the plant and ensure any defects noted are raised with the Offshore Team Leader (OTL).
• Carry out ad hoc operational tasks, including preparation of paperwork and work packs.
• Act as a Performing Authority and Isolating Authority as required.
• Control isolations and permits as per the responsibilities of a Performing Authority and Isolating Authority.
• Implement operations and maintenance procedures, policies, and safe working practices for your areas of responsibility.
• Control room cover required for incumbent CRO for meal breaks.
• Ensure jobs are raised in Maximo to address all known defects. Order all required materials and where appropriate feed the job into the plan.

Emergency Response:
• Act as member of the emergency control team or fire team as appropriate. Responsibilities defined in the Emergency Response PlanJOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements
Qualifications/Experience:
• We are looking for an individual who has completed a time served trade apprenticeship.
• Knowledge of the Oil & Gas or Petrochemical Industry
• Strong technical background qualified to a minimum of HNC or equivalent
• Knowledge / skills of
o SIRP (Safe Isolation and Re-instatement of Plant)
o PTW (Permit of Work/Safe System of Work)
o Process Safety
o ORA (Operational Risk Assessment)
