Grinding Machine Operator (.O.D.)

Pay: $19–$28 + (open for negotiation - based on experience) 

Shifts: 1st Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Location: Addison, IL

Type: Temp to Hire

Requirements: Resume / Interview / Authorization to work in the U.S./ Background Check/ Drug Test

Our client is a precision manufacturing company specializing in grinding, lapping, and honing. They are seeking an experienced OD Machine Operator to support production within their grinding department.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC, N/C, and manual OD grinding machines safely and efficiently
• Perform full machine setups (mounting grinding wheels, setting feeds and speeds, securing workpieces)
• Dress grinding wheels to required specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and precision measuring tools
• Maintain quality standards and production output
• Report safety, machine, or quality issues immediately
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Complete shop floor documentation accurately

Qualifications

• Experience operating manual and/or CNC OD grinding machines
• Mitsubishi, Studer, or Toyoda experience is a plus
• Ability to perform independent setups and hold tight tolerances
• Proficient with micrometers and calipers (metrology knowledge )
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication)
• Ability to lift materials as needed
• Willingness to work overtime (weekdays and weekends as required)
• Reliable, punctual, and quality-driven
