JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE: The NPI Engineering 1 Technician will be responsible for building new Cable & Harness products under the guidance of the Engineering Group. Capable of understanding schematics, figuring out dimensions and performing all required manufacturing operations. Must learn how to write a process as you are building a new product to establish Manufacturing production process. To excel in this key role, you must be able communicate clearly.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Manufacturing experience with technical insight on specific equipment or processes.
  • Ability to follow verbal instructions and general manufacturing designs/drawings/diagrams.
  • Computer skills and use of computer programs/software specific to the manufacturing process.
  • Understands processes and procedures and can recognize non-conformance or problems.
  • Blueprint Reading Course .
  • May include other duties as assigned and/or special projects.

QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with building Cable Assemblies.
  • Certifications is .
  • Basic reading, writing and math skills with min high school diploma or equivalent.
  • IPC 610 / 620 certifications and familiar with ISO 9000 standards.
  • Typically requires 0-2 years of prior manufacturing and hands-on experience.
  • Intuitive Software Experience.
  • Familiar with Computer software with Microsoft Office.
  • Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be able to work with direction in a team environment.
  • Perform basic navigation through Customer prints, wiring diagrams and customer supplied documentation to build new products.
  • Understanding Requirements, Notes & Specs called out on drawings.
  • Knowledge of tools & many operations.
  • Ability of taking pictures with approved camera to assist with process writing.
  • Ability to evaluate and make recommendations on process/product issues.
  • Ability to Troubleshoot any problems.
  • Ability to perform required preventative maintenance with direction from engineering.
  • Accountable for individual results.
  • Receives detail instructions on all work.
  • Provides work direction and training to others as requested.
  • Work within a team environment.
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing demands and work schedules/assignments.
  • Knowledge and participation in the 5S Program.
  • Adheres to established safety practices and quality system requirements.

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • No special clearances required.
